NEW YORK, Feb. 13, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- MOSCOT, the 103-year old New York City eyewear fixture, is announcing the relocation of its 14th Street shop. The new location, opening in March 2018, will occupy the ground floor 1,290 sq ft space at 555, 6th Avenue, New York, NY 10011.

The current location at 69 W. 14th Street, first opened its doors to MOSCOT in 1996. After occupying the space for the last 21 years, the building has been sold for development, in a similar series of events to when the brand was forced to relocate its iconic 118 Orchard Street location back in 2013, due to high-rise development plans.

"MOSCOT's roots in downtown NYC are deeply planted," said fourth-generation and CEO, Dr. Harvey Moscot. "Great Grandpa Hyman (MOSCOT founder) started with humble beginnings, selling eyeglasses from a pushcart along Orchard Street at the beginning of the twentieth century. We are just continuing this tradition of pushing our cart in a twenty-first century way."

MOSCOT currently operates four locations in New York: Chelsea Market, Orchard Street, Cobble Hill (Brooklyn) and now, the West side of 6th Avenue, which replaces the current 14th Street location.
